I have lived in Chatham all my life and taught French at Chatham Hall prior to retirement. Bill came to Chatham Hall in 1982. We are very active in town life. We also love to travel and have had such good experiences living in small towns in Europe where we loved visiting markets, cooking local foods, and becoming friends with our neighbors.
In 2000 we opened our guest cottage, La Chaumière, to enable visitors to live in the town and to become a part of our community. There is much to see and do in Chatham and we warmly invite you to come and be our neighbors.

What to Know
- The cottage stands alone with a front porch and large side yard. It is rented as a unit, not by separate rooms. Reserved parking is adjacent to the cottage.
- All breakfast items are individually packaged. We have washed eggs from local farmers along with individual bags of La Chaumière coffee roasted for us by Callands Coffee.
- Local restaurants offer curbside pick-up and limited in-restaurant dining.
- We offer an array of movies, BBC mysteries, books, and board games. Guests may start a book and take it with them to enjoy.
Tariff
The cottage rental is $120 per night and includes the entire cottage. Payment must be in cash or personal check. We regret that we cannot accept other payment options.
